Julie Burgos, Second Vice-President

Julia Burgos is a Social Worker and an Educator. Julia retired as a Social Worker in the Brentwood School District after 28 years of service. Prior to working in Brentwood, Julia also held the position of Bilingual School Social Worker for the New York City Board of Education, District 7, Bronx, NY. Currently, Julia is a Trustee on the Brentwood School District Board of Education. She is also an Adjunct Professor for the School of Social Work at Adelphi University. Julia is grateful that she is able to be involved in providing services for children. She is especially grateful for working with ENL populations as she is herself an English Language Learner. She has spent a large part of her career working with parents of ENL students, helping them to meet their children’s developmental, social/emotional, and educational needs. She has also helped them to navigate their local school districts to obtain the highest quality services for their children. Julia is the Vice President of LILTA.
